AbstractThe importance of using properly curved mesh entities when using high order discretizations to solve partial differential equations over curved domains is examined. The results show that sizable errors are introduced into the prediction of parameters of engineering interest when the geometric approximation is too low with respect to the polynomial order of the discretization.
