| Abstract | We introduce a new type of planar graph called a triangle graph. We present a formal way of constructing and characterizing triangle graphs, show that they are three-colorable and show that they characterize adjacencies of arbitrary triangulations. Subsequently, we discuss an application of triangle graphs to the parallel finite element solution of elliptic partial differential equations on triangulated domains. |
