Abstract | Simulation-Based Design With Simulation-based design, simulation serves as the primary means of design evaluation and verification. Simulation advances the ability to design and manufacture superior products in less time and at lower costs - a requirement for any company to remain competitive in the future. After decades of advances in computing technologies, CAD and CAE now provide many of the ingredients needed to support simulation-based design. However, their full realization places additional requirements on the simulation processes carried out that current CAD/CAE products and industrial practices do not readily meet. This discussion focuses on the missing ingredients of fully deployable simulation-based design. |
