AbstractA stabilized, three-dimensional, mixed displacement-pressure based finite element formulation for modeling large deformation, nearly incompressible processes is presented. The stabilization is applied to circumvent the Babushka-Brezzi criterion which normally must be satisfied for mixed finite element formulations. The formulation is implemented into an object-oriented finite element framework.
