TitleAutomatic Mesh Generation of Complex Configurations Including Viscous Boundary Layers
Year1997

AbstractThe problem of generating unstructured tetrahedral meshes for viscous flow simulations in complex non-manifold domains starting from a geometric model is addressed. The method adopted to generate the boundary layer mesh is the Generalized Advancing Layers technique incorporating a number of features essential for the creation of valid and good quality meshes. The procedures have been tested on a number of complex models such as vehicle interiors as well as vehicle exteriors with under-the-hood and under-the-body detail. The capabilities of the method will be illustrated by example.
