Abstract | A geometry based framework for hp-adaptive finite elements is presented. The framework builds on a two level decomposition of the shape functions which directly support the specification of variable p-order meshes. Numerical integration employs domain shape information as defined in a CAD system. Simple two-dimensional examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the procedures which have been fully implemented in three-dimensions. |
